Who we are?
We are people with learning difficulties.
Many people have difficulties in learning, understanding
or dealing with every day problems.
Each of us is different. Some people walk quickly, some - slowly.
Everyone thinks and feels different.
Wise old people said: as there are no two same faces in the world,
there are no two same minds (Talmud).
But all of us are also the same in some things.
We all want to live. We all want to be happy.
We all want that someone loves us.
Everyone of us had a mother and a father.
Everyone was a child. Everyone will become old and will die.
Nobody likes, when he feels pain. Nobody wants to be poor and lonely.
Everyone wishes to have good friends and to live interesting and jolly life.
But people with learning difficulties often have no possibilities to decide for themselves.
It is still often that other people do not respect them enough.
It is often that nobody asks what they really want.
Here you will find pages where people with learning disabilities from Russia and Finland tell about themselves. These pages were developed together by Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (Helsinki) and Jewish Family Centre “Adain Lo” (St. Petersburg).
Our aims:
- To help people with learning difficulties to understand and to defend their rights
- To help people with learning difficulties become more independent
- To bring more equality and tolerance to societies
- To promote possibilities of people with disabilities to live in society as equal members
Write us about yourself!
We wish to find new friends in different countries!
